[WARNING]: Never regard every signpost you see!
Not every signpost you see is actually a guide to your destination.
You could take this to be literal, you could as well take it to be figurative, but I believe it should echo in your mind that "Not every signpost you see is actually a guide to your destination."
Well, before you consider studying the signposts, you should first consider where you are heading to (destination). Yes, signposts are there to guide you. Take for instance when you're travelling, you see signposts on the way that can lead you to your destination and keep you at alert. That's by the way. Let's go deeper.
Now, life is a journey. Your journey of life is the journey to achieving your goals or your purpose. Of course, when you go through your journey of life, you will definitely see various signposts that can guide you to whatever destination you have chosen. Signposts to guide are there, yes, but what about "distracting signposts"? Fascinating, right?
Imagine travelling on the Street named Life, and your destination is a " treasure island" that symbolizes your goals or purpose. You'll see good signposts reading, " Focus and accelerate", "Refuel, re-energize", " Grow your inventory for a better journey!"
However, imagine you also saw signposts that read, "You must be very tired. Why not chill with a "sip" (which would later turn into a "glass" and then metamorphose into a "bottle", then "bottles", you know what I mean... Lol.), "Why not hang out with good babes?" or "You can never make it there. It's too far!" (especially when you're already getting close to the end of the journey); distractive and destructive signposts that could blindfold and cajole you into thinking you are enjoying yourself, yet you're gradually shedding yourself to pieces! You get the idea now, right?
The point is, when you know your focus, and you realize the benefits of getting to your destination, you will not give room for distractions.
